Stock Development’s Calista model home in Quail West demonstrates tropical West Indies architecture with a transitional twist. Partner John Cooney of Stofft Cooney Architects uses bold contrasts between building materials, such as dark-stained cypress corbels and beams and bright limestone cladding, to give the home a striking appearance. “We blend classical, timeless architecture with modern amenities and materials. This residence exemplifies these traits,” describes Cooney. The architectural details paired with the impeccable interior design by Soco Interiors come together to create a home that stands out.
“The architectural elevation inspired our design,” states Natalie Sorrentino of Soco Interiors. “It has a modern West Indies feel with dark wood slanted shutters and clean body color. There is a beautiful dark cypress trellis entry that is also repeated in the back. Our design compliments these elements and gives it a contemporary twist, bringing it into the modern day.”
The immense great room opens up to a two-story height, with giant truss beams across the ceiling. In one of the rooms, the flat screen television is mounted upon a cream colored stacked stone feature wall. Dark walnut stained flooring extends throughout the home, contrasting with fresh white walls, typical of the West Indies style. This contrast between light and dark is also seen in the “tone on tone” of the furnishings. Additional splashes of ice blue bring color to the space. Expansive 10-foot wall-to-wall slider doors open the whole area for a fantastic view of the entire outdoor lanai and pool. Three hand-embellished Giclée sepia art prints depicting cherry blossoms are framed in black and pewter.
The kitchen features all solid wood cabinetry in a white painted finish and white quartzite counter tops. A farmhouse sink with polished nickel hardware glimmers nicely along with the stainless steel appliances. Three crystal pendants in a silver tone finish with cylindrical shades light the countertop. Top-of-the-line appliances from Florida Builder Appliances give the kitchen distinction.
The dining room features an amazing ellipse ceiling with paneled molding detail, painted in white enamel that matches the wainscoting on the walls. A set of contemporary cut crystal chandeliers draw the eye upward and a matching set of sconces flank the buffet. The long, thin modern walnut table with dark chocolate finish is surrounded by eight guest chairs with textured linen upholstery. Larger host and hostess chairs with a geometric accent pattern cap the ends of the table. Two etched mercury glass vases act as the table’s centerpiece while custom hand-embellished Giclée floral abstracts in silver frames adorn the wall.
The home’s theme of contrasting lights and darks is more subtle in the master bedroom, for an indulgent, comfortable feel. The bed’s headboard is upholstered in soft cream chenille and rests against a wall of inset mirrors with decorative white wood molding. A slate blue quilted coverlet with ivory linen duvet cover dress the bed with patterned shams and decorative pillows for additional style. The lattice inspired night stands, with a creamy white finish and silver tone pulls, adds an additional touch of elegance. A simple curved silver leaf chandelier with subtle crystal accents is suspended from the high-pitched ceiling. Tone-on-tone ivory embroidered drapery frames the window and a soft blue velvet couch with button tufted back sits at the end of the bed. Light cream patterned wool carpeting covers the floor. The master suite also includes an expansive walk-in closet, detailed in silver gloss and white, designed and constructed by Jennifer Lofstrand of All About Closets.
The master bath continues to demonstrate the home’s elegant atmosphere. Silverado limestone vein-cut tile with silver sky tones crosses the floor. The vanities are a warm walnut color with light Carrara marble tops. A delicate silver leaf chandelier with hand-blown glass baubles was chosen to compliment the modern glass shaded sconces and antique mirror. A dark espresso vanity chair, with polished silver accents is covered in natural linen.
“Luxury homebuyers continue to demonstrate a preference for beautifully appointed estate homes that offer Naples’ hallmark indoor/outdoor lifestyle,” states Claudine Léger-Wetzel, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Stock Development.
“The Calista estate model at Quail West is a perfect example of how Stock Signature Homes is incorporating outstanding outdoor living areas in its estate home designs,” adds Léger-Wetzel.
Surrounded by the pool, the back of the home boasts stacked-stone columns, walnut-toned tongue-and-groove ceiling details, and creamy tumbled marble flooring. Contributing to the overall elegance of the outdoors, the space includes a spill over spa and stepping pads across the water. Multiple gathering areas, including conversation and dining spaces and a separate fire pit area, allow different groups to enjoy the outdoors at the same time.
