Rustically Elegant

For more than 19 years, internationally recognized Weber Design Group has been assisting clients to realize their desires for unique residences, residences that capture homeowner vision through the highest level of excellence and attention. It is such excellence upon which Weber Design Group has built their sterling reputation. Although typically known for their Mediterranean masterpieces, this most recent project—an Old World style home—was a welcome change.

With a broad spectrum of talented home designers in-house, Weber Design Group is a full-service architectural design firm that promises to provide each client with a home planning experience to remember. Weber Design Group works side-by-side with their clients through every step of the process as the home in their clients’ imaginations becomes a reality.

With clients ranging from developers to builders to individuals, Weber Design Group is renowned for offering clients creative solutions and innovative ideas concerning home design, while providing each with unparalleled quality in both their products and services.

This standard of quality is evident in the residence that Weber Design Group recently designed in Naples. Weber’s in-house designers worked closely with the client to identify interesting finishes and applications that are evident throughout the 6,672 square foot home, featuring two master suites, soaring ceilings and exposed beams. While using modern products in areas such as the fascia and eaves, the front elevation of the home is rich in Old World details that define the residence and provide a lodge-type feel.

The home is faced with two-inch thick stone, brick, stucco and a generous application of rich cedar wood that extends to the decorative shutters embellished with wrought iron details. White oak was used, as well as an inlay in the travertine floors in the entrance foyer. A second entry stands near the garage and is as richly detailed as the main entrance with its barreled brick ceiling and wrought iron gate.

Known for enhancing their home plans with many points of architectural interest, Weber Design Group designed this home to deliver impact as soon as one steps into the grand foyer. Tall ceilings with liberal application of stone, brick and cypress beams all serve to emphasize the generous proportions of the home. A stunning staircase leads to the loft area upstairs that includes a guest bedroom and incorporates three stone/brick arches and a decorative wrought iron railing. From this vantage point, one is given a direct view through the windows of the dining room below.

The open kitchen connects with the downstairs public rooms and glows with rustic charm beneath a ceiling finished with cypress beams. Designed to include all of the appointments required by the serious cook, the space includes a center island, a very large walk-in pantry, and a stone-faced range hood enhanced by a stone and tile backsplash. The kitchen space features a generous dining bar with granite counter tops and a breakfast nook. Attention to detail is evident in the niche installed in the cypress wood paneled wall, where louvered doors hide a television that can be viewed from the kitchen, dining bar, and breakfast nook.

Old World elegance radiates throughout a family room that was designed to be spacious, striking and functional. Travertine floors complement a truly unique fireplace design that incorporates stone/brick with a richly carved cedar mantel and pre-cast brackets. The floor plan allows the family room to be filled with light that enters the space either through a center picture window that is flanked by casement windows and a transom window above or the French doors with transom windows above.

Architectural details abound in the spacious, luxuriously appointed first floor master bedroom. The stone statement wall behind the master bed is complemented by white oak floors and wainscoting embellished by the liberal application of moulding detail. Facing the bed, a paneled wall holds windows and a set of French doors topped by transom windows above and flanked by fixed glass panels. An arched hallway contains two walk-in closets and leads to the master bathroom.

Echoing the rustic Old World feel that is the hallmark of this residence, the master bath offers a soaking tub with stone surround and granite topped double vanities with mirrors encased in wide, decorative wood moudlings. The most arresting aspect of the master bath, however, remains the octagonal walk-in shower. In fact a room of its own, the shower boasts walls covered in stone and brickwork and a vaulted, tongue-in-groove wood ceiling. Oversized windows let in plenty of sunlight while offering views to the private garden just outside.

At the rear of the residence, the outdoor living area offers a wealth of options for both seating and entertaining. With its tumbled marble pavers, the elegant free form swimming pool contains a bubbled sun shelf, built-in seating on the far side and a waterfall feature at the northern end. A see-through stone/brick fireplace that mimics the lines of the fireplace in the family room and was designed with open areas that wouldn’t block the views from the covered entertaining area. The covered area offers an outdoor kitchen and a seating area bathed in ambient light provided by can lights set into the cypress ceiling above. Landscape islands enhance the lush feel of the outdoor space.

Working closely with each of their clients in order to create residences that are redolent with individuality and rich in original and inventive architecture, Weber Design Group continues to inspire with leading-edge design concepts.
