The
Grand Finale
Located within walking distance of the shops
and restaurants of Venetian Village, and just a stone’s throw away
from the pristine beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, Aria, The Lutgert Companies’
most recent triumph, is considered the ‘grand finale’ in the
company’s stunning collection of luxury high-rise condominium buildings
on Park Shore beach.
Situated adjacent to one of five beautifully landscaped beachside parks,
Aria boasts 52 elegantly appointed residences ranging in size from 3,173
to 4,777 square feet under air and 13 luxurious penthouse residences ranging
from 4,011 to 5,088 square feet under air, each offering the ultimate
experience in beachfront living.
Gary David, owner of Gary David Designs in Bonita Springs, was commissioned
to design a three-bedroom/three-bath model residence. His goal was to
appeal to the demographics of Southwest Florida and to create a transitional
design that would merge a traditional foundation with a cleaner, less
fussy and baroque look. The result was a design that followed the industry
trend toward a cleaner and more contemporary design, but one that was
not ultra-trendy.
David chose a luminous palette of pale yellows, soft beiges and creams
and light greens to enhance the design. The walls were faux painted in
soft, neutral shades to complement the stunning, creamy white Saturnia
flooring, which was laid in a classic Versailles pattern throughout the
common areas, as well as in the bathrooms. Because the majority of the
rooms face out toward the Gulf of Mexico, the designer carefully planned
each room to take advantage of the ensuing views and the proliferation
of natural sunlight.
Entering the residence through the spacious foyer, the open living and
dining room space is immediately visible. The master suite is to the right
of the foyer and the kitchen, great room and guest room are to the left.
A third bedroom, located adjacent to the living room through a pair of
contemporary, multi-paned French doors, has been transformed into a study.
The living room combines several traditional and up-to- date design elements.
The rolled arms and cushions of the traditional, skirted sofa have been
sized-down considerably to complement two upholstered Louis XV-inspired
side chairs. A pair of cushy club chairs, upholstered in a satin weave
striped fabric with corresponding, boxed pillows, faces the sofa. The
sleek black-lacquered, Asian-inspired cocktail table and custom designed,
green and rust striped drapery panels add a contemporary flare to the
room.
The focal point of the formal living room is the hand woven Oriental rug.
Bold shades of russet, tangerine, gold and mint come to life against the
rug’s black background.
The builder paid special attention when designing the fully integrated
kitchen, which comes with a KitchenAid Stainless appliance package (shown
in black), a six-burner gas cook top, granite countertops and an abundance
of cabinets and storage space. The expansive, L-shaped configuration of
maple cabinets – glass-fronted on both the front and back –
mimics the path of the Gold Himalayan granite countertops.
Taking advantage of the dazzling views, the kitchen opens up into the
large family room where a chenille covered, three-cushion sofa and two
large, mahogany-armed occasional chairs surround an iron legged coffee
table that is topped with a slab of noche-hued Saturnia stone. The focal
point of the room is the gas fireplace, the walls of which have been painted
to look like coral stone. The area rug is made of woven sea grass with
a dark leather banding.
The master bedroom, with its contemporary, Asian-inspired design is a
peaceful enclave. A shimmery comforter, in three corresponding shades
of gold, covers the ebony finished platform bed. Decorative pillows and
shams are set against the raffia-hued and textured fabric headboard. The
walnut armoire, with its decorative raised paneling, complements the walnut
veneer side table, which is a contemporary variation of a traditional
French design.
The serene setting is enhanced by the inclusion of delicious shades of
mint, salmon, rust, yellow and gold; colors that were hand-stitched into
the paisley patterned silk pillows and matching drapery panels, to match
a pair of tropical-inspired prints above the bed.
An interesting soffit design in the master bath is enhanced by the gold
and bronze strié patterned metallic ceiling. Although a different
faux technique was used for the bedroom ceiling, the metallic shades are
similar, thus making the transition between the two rooms natural.
