Beautiful
Floors Define Style
To
see the latest in area rugs, carpet, and hardwood
and laminate floors as well as marble, granite,
stone and porcelain, one-stop shopping is minutes
away. For a clear view of the finest selection in flooring, visit Bonita
Springs Floor Covering, Marco Island Floor
Covering or Naples Bay Floor Covering. Serving
Southwest Florida for two decades, this family-owned
business employs more than 100 sales and installation professionals at
three state-of-the-art showroom locations.
Today’s
finer homes are not just wall-to-wall carpeting or tile any longer. The
most fashion-forward residences
incorporate a variety of flooring. The kitchen might be
durable porcelain while the more elegant living rooms
are travertine marble, and the master bedroom is a
luxurious retreat with broadloom carpet. Wood in the
study and more casual family room adds character to
any design. Exquisite Oriental area rugs or custom
carpets woven with rich color complement wood and
stone floors.
More
than anything, the biggest trend in flooring is buying it all from one
source. Even 10 years ago,
customers were buying tile at one location, stone at
another and carpet at yet another. Who has the time?
“In the past few years there’s
a definite change in customer attitude,” says Bill Pascale, president. “When
clients learn of the selection and reasonable prices, they
desire to purchase everything here. With all of the
components that go into building or remodeling a
home, if they can select the finest products and receive
top-notch service at one store, that’s where they go.”
Bill’s
brother Mike, and sons Chris and Gregg oversee the three locations, serving
reputable builders as well as homeowners. Marco Floor Covering open
first, in 1984, a 7,000-square-foot showroom.
Recognizing a healthy economy in Bonita Springs, 8
years ago Bonita Springs Floor Covering opened with a
5,000-square-foot showroom. The latest addition to the
family is Naples Bay Floor Covering, a
15,000-square-foot facility that houses a
3,000-square-foot showroom and space for
administration and installation services.
“We’ve
not only witnessed growth in the markets that we serve, but we’ve
seen considerable change in the flooring industry,” says Pascale. “Builders
and homeowners want to add character to their homes
with a variety of floorings, and the industry is
responding with incredible products.”
In
carpeting, broadloom is experiencing renewed demand with raised botanical
patterns being the perfect
addition to monochromatic interior designs.
Stain-resisant, synthetic sea grass and sisal, both of which
complement a preference for natural design, are in
vogue. Reinforcing a color scheme, area rugs can
be focal points. Easier on the spine and a sound absorber, carpeting
is desirable in rooms that don’t
receive the floor traffic. Today’s sturdy carpets feature
attractive warranties.
When
people want a hard surface that warms a color scheme, when they want
to add the look of age and when they want to dignify a small space, they
look to
wood. As contemporary design draws more
appeal, designers recognize that wood can soften the straight lines of
modern furnishings.
“Exotic
woods and hand-scraped woods are our biggest seller in wood flooring,” says Pascale. “From
all parts of the world, these floors are gorgeous and they
have the ability of adding so much color and character
to a setting.”
Nothing
makes a statement like stone, and even many of the ceramic tiles on the
market are designed to
emulate it. Marble and limestone lend an aged
appearance that complements the Mediterranean and
Old World architecture so prevalent in Southwest
Florida. Stone is a cool surface in a warm environment
and forms the perfect natural transition from interior
rooms to outdoor settings that are used year-round for
al fresco dining and entertaining.
Without
doubt, floors take more abuse than any other surface in the home. For
a floor that takes a
beating and still looks marvelous, try porcelain. Porcelain,
relatively new on the flooring market 10 years ago, has
come down in price just as demand has risen. Now
much more comparable in price to ceramic, porcelain
tile is much harder than ceramic. Unlike ceramic, which has a layer of
surface color, porcelain’s hue is tile deep.
Manufactured to look like stone or any type of stylish
ceramic, with a cost that’s easy on your wallet, porcelain
is a hit.
If
chosen wisely, your floors will increase the value of and enhance the
enjoyment of your home.
