Passion
for Perfection
Home
– what does it mean to each of us and how can we ever describe its
subjective qualities? These questions and others, addressed in Patterns
of Home by internationally respected architects Max Jacobson, Murray Silverstein
and Barbara Winslow, strike at the heart of attempting to define what
it means to create a home.
“The essence of a
home is a notion that, while hard to describe abstractly, seems to be
understood intuitively. We all have a sense of the spaces and places that
possess it: entries that invite, kitchens that work and are a pleasure
to be in, rooms that feel right… And while such things are, of course,
subjective – a matter of taste, preference, desire – beneath
the varieties of taste and style, there is a definable underlying essence
that can be embodied in a wide variety of homes – big and small,
traditional and modern.” This quote and the following, found in
the book’s first chapter, ”Discovering the Essence of Home,”
offers an insight into the inexpressible essence found in a home by Brynwood
Homes.
“Creating a home
is a process of making a place that feels both new and old: new, in so
far as it is a fresh response to the existing conditions of neighborhood,
site, climate, program and budget; and old, in that it contains the deep
and familiar qualities that, regardless of location, budget, and size
make a place a home. These timeless architectural qualities are what we
think of as the essence of a home.” If you are looking to create
all of these qualities as well as others in a collaborative custom home
building adventure, look no further than David Braverman, president of
Brynwood Homes and his staff of building professionals.
Brynwood Homes is a Naples-based
builder with a 10-year reputation for building homes with quality and
value in custom home neighborhoods such as Barefoot Beach, AquaLane Shores,
Port Royal, Park Shore, The Moorings, Old Naples, Pine Ridge Estates,
Quail Creek and Quail West. Since “to see” is “to believe,”
a prime example of Brynwood Homes’ handiwork can be experienced
by visiting The Bellagio in Quail West.
The Bellagio, a furnished
model with 8,800 square feet encompasses five-bedrooms, six and one-halfbathrooms
and an oversized garage – capable of housing four cars and two golf
carts as well as a hobby/workroom – stands as a testimonial to Braverman’s
building philosophy and commitment to building a custom home that can
genuinely dovetail with the owner’s individuality and lifestyle.
Also
incorporating the most up-to-date building trends and materials, the Brynwood
Homes’ philosophy of construction includes a fresh and unique twist
that Braverman takes pride in personally accomplishing -- sleuthing the
area for qualified suppliers and sub-contractors who can provide top of
the line services, technologies and materials at better prices.
On top of Naples’
building trends, Braverman remarks that full wine cellars are making a
comeback after tapering off for several years. Concerning a shift in the
styles of homes he says, “People are leaning away from Spanish Mediterranean
toward Tuscan Mediterranean and there seems to be a growing interest in
the architectural styles of the British West Indies.” Regarding
interiors, Baverman notes that an increasing number of home interiors
are incorporating a theme of soft contemporary, that wood flooring is
now selected more often than marble and natural stone and three out of
five of his clients are including a club or game room as well as a room
dedicated to home theater.
On the topic of large
master suites, Braverman points to The Bellagio model where there are
separate his and hers bathrooms with nothing shared. And finally on the
inclusion of a designated exercise room he feels that it is dependent
upon where the home is built. “If the community has a clubhouse
with a state-of-the-art fitness center and aerobics studio, most people
prefer using the club facilities.”
Braverman’s practice
of passing on money saved, directing the homebuyer to purchase from suppliers
that will enable them to achieve their goal yet remain within their budget
while not compromising on quality has made Brynwood Homes the recipient
of a high percentage of referrals by satisfied buyers. “For instance,
there are newer whole house audio and lighting technologies that accomplish
the same task as older technologies at half the price,” says Braverman
adding that he frequently connects with new suppliers over the Internet.
Braverman explains in more
detail, “I feel compelled to constantly seek out materials and services
that not only benefit the homeowner but also those that will distinguish
Brynwood Homes from other builders. Ultimately what we want is for our
clients to feel like their home is worth more than they paid for it and
to tell their friends, if you don’t build with Brynwood Homes, you’re
crazy.”
Whether you have a floor
plan, blueprints and an interior designer, or you don’t, this flexible
and remarkably accessible builder has an answer that comes in the form
of a Naples-based referral network of experienced and proven professionals.
No matter you’re preferred style of home – from Classic to
French Country or from Florida Cracker to Contemporary, Brynwood Homes
has forged solid relationships with architects and designers who can help
clients not only design their chosen style of home but also to choose
its interior themes, furnishings and accessories.
“We are a customer
intensive builder, which means that we contract with a limited number
of clients per year in order to provide a high level of customer service,”
Braverman states. Adding that Brynwood Homes is the kind of company he
would want to build his own home, he explains what it means to his clients.
“It means that as
their builder they get personal and direct access to me. I’m present
in the first meeting when they are potential clients and again when they
become buyers. I’m there when they make material and technology
selections and a year or two later, I’m still personally involved
when they have questions regarding warranty work.” Striving to create
a level of trust, Braverman even gives buyers his cell phone number as
well as his office extension so there’s no question regarding his
commitment to being available.
Brynwood Homes also has
aligned themselves as generator and whole-house water systems dealers
for the extra-added convenience of their clients. “I believe that
in the customer’s mind it is this level of attending to details
and concern for comfort that provides the sense of added value, separating
Brynwood Homes from other builders.”
